As you may know there is a huge national sporting festival taking place all over the country on 13th July. It is called SPORT RELIEF and will raise money for the most deprived children in the UK and across the world. The event is organised by the Comic Relief team and will be televised on BBC1 with contributions and appearances from the country’s leading athletes and sporting figures.

Cambridge LTC is taking part and will be holding a series of participatory events during the course of the day, including two tournaments, [the annual "Business Cup" in the morning and a "Parent and Child" tournament in the afternoon], a huge tennis fete open to all in the afternoon and a party in the evening with a live band.

A schedule of events is included below. We hope that all members will make the effort to visit the club during the course of the day, have a go at something and contribute to this very worthwhile charity. THIS EVENT IS OPEN TO ABSOLUTELY ANYONE not just members, and is designed to give all comers a lot of fun, even if you only play tennis once a year or even never.

Members note: For this one day -13th July 2002 - the whole club and all courts will be taken over for SPORT RELIEF and there will be NO CLUB PLAY.

COME ALONG AND HAVE FUN! The whole world is invited.
