Congratulations to Javier and Richard who beat a fiercely competitive field to win this year’s Pythagorus Cup.
Sponsored by Seniors Tennis GB
Cambridge Lawn Tennis Club held a Men’s Doubles event sponsored by Seniors Tennis Great Britain and the LTA helping to promote and support more competition for senior players. Jack Howe CLTC’s Men’s captain said, “Everyone fought hard on court and had a fantastic time, trying to emulate their Wimbledon heros!”
As a club we recognise that tennis is a sport for life and a great way to stay fit and healthy with like- minded friends. Needless to say the Men had a great time on and off court. A reward of pizza and beer greeted players afterwards rather than the traditional strawberries.
Thank you to STGB and the LTA for putting on so many events for the older age groups around the country and providing opportunities to keep the competitive spirit going. Long Live Tennis. Live Long in Tennis.
Congratulations to everyone who took part in the Paul Piggot Memorial Cup. Another wonderful sunny afternoon of hard fought tennis followed by Clare’s famous homemade cakes. Well played Rachel and Chris who narrowly beat Sam and Herbert in the final.
The renovation of courts 13,14 & 15 are now completed and ready for use from Friday. Thanks for your patience and enjoy the courts.
Photos of the U14 singles players and U18 doubles players that battled their way through to the County section of the “Play your way to Wimbledon” tournament. There was a wonderful display of talent and sportsmanship from all the junior club members. Congratulations to everyone who took part.
Congratulations to Keith & Louise winners of the 2022 De Freville Cup and to everyone for such a wonderful afternoon of tennis, supported by Sharon & Lucy’s amazing cream teas!
A very special evening at the club to celebrate and give thanks to Sharon (centre) for the 6 years she has dedicated to the Ladies teams, we greatly appreciate your efforts. Good luck to everyone for the coming season.
If you would like to donate any small items for the Ukrainian refugees there is a collection bag in the clubhouse until Friday 4th March.
Tennis camp is cancelled today due to the high winds forecast. Stay safe.
