CLTC runs junior coaching sessions all year round for all abilities of children aged 4-16yrs. The coaching team at CLTC is one of the best in the country with vast experience teaching young red players all the way through to national players. Our coaches are all CRB checked and fully licensed and insured. The coaching programme is run by the club and all surpluses are put back into improving CLTC and the service it provides to its members.
During the school term CLTC runs weekly group classes which are open to all levels of children aged 4-16yrs. These sessions are designed to be instructional and fun and enable children to learn how to compete and enjoy the game. The club run the mini tennis system where children under 11 use specific courts and balls that are the correct size and bounce height. CLTC keep player to coach ratios as low as possible to ensure a high level of quality and give the children the best opportunity to improve.
For juniors who are confident competing and interested in pushing their tennis to a higher level, CLTC provides invitational groups where children of a similar level are invited to train with each other in sessions with a higher training intensity. We don’t advertise these sessions so you will need to contact our Tennis Manager to discuss accessing these courses.
CLTC runs a highly successful holiday camp programme for children of all ages. The Camps run during each school half term and then in the Easter and Summer Holidays. All the camps are well staffed by qualified coaches and assistants. They are always great fun so if you have some free time in the holidays do sign up. Players can enroll for periods of one day up to the whole week.
4 -7 Years
There are group sessions for the minis from age 4 to 7 years old. These sessions involve a lot of ABCs – agility, balance, coordination and speed and then racket skills work leading to playing the game.
Older Age Groups
For the slightly older children 8 years up to 16 years there are half day camps. Players are grouped according to age and ability and they learn basic tennis skills, do various athletic drills and match play.
