RULES & CONDITIONS

 

  1. The Tournament is sanctioned by the LTA and will be conducted under current rules and regulations (including the code of Conduct). Players may not enter two tournaments which run over the same period.
  2.  

  3. Singles Events: The Men’s and Ladies Singles events are Closed Events (i.e. competitors must have been born in the County or have been resident in Cambridgeshire or Peterborough for at least one year and not represented any other County for the year prior to the commencement of the tournament).
  4.  

  5. All Singles Competitors must be LTA registered and must be available for the duration of the tournament.
  6.  

  7. All Singles matches and the later stages of the Doubles events will be best of three tiebreak sets. The early stages of the Doubles events will be in one set Round Robin form.
  8.  

  9. Competitors must play in suitable tennis clothing and tennis shoes, i.e. shoes must not have spikes cleats, deep ribbing or raised heels.
  10.  

  11. Weekend play will start at 10.00am daily and will continue until close of play. Weekday play will start from 5.00pm and will continue until close of play. The grass courts must not be used before these times without the permission of the Referee, Assistant Referee or Groundsman at Christ’s & Sidney Sussex Sports Ground.
  12.  

  13. All players will be informed of the time of their first match and should arrive at least 15 minutes before the time given for their match and all subsequent matches.
  14.  

  15. Competitors must sign the attendance sheet daily on arrival. They must not leave the sports ground at any time without the permission of the Referee.
  16.  

  17. Competitors should always check the proposed time of their next match with the Referee. Players should be aware that the weather can affect the proposed timetable and be patient if there are delays in getting matches started.
  18.  

  19. All matches will be played on grass courts whenever possible.
  20.  

  21. Entry Forms should be sent to the County Office by Wednesday 25th June 2003. The draw will take place on Wednesday 25th June 2003 at the County Office at 7.00pm.
  22.  

  23. Once the draw has been made, no player may withdraw from the tournament for medical reasons unless the Tournament Secretary is supplied with a doctors certificate.

    Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th July Round Robin Mens & Ladies Doubles

    Sunday 6th July singles events will commence

    Saturday 12th July Finals day

    Sunday 13th July Reserve day in case of bad weather

    There will be plate events, number of entries and weather permitting.

  27. All singles events will be seeded.
  28.  

  29. Competitors should be available at all times once their event has passed the date stated above.
  30.  

  1. The Referee will be responsible for the day to day running of the tournament. The decision of the Referee or his Assistant on all matters in connection with the tournament is final. Any complaints must be made in writing, addressed to the Tournament Committee and lodged with the Tournament Secretary within 48 hours of the occurrence.
  2.  

  3. The Committee accept no responsibility whatsoever for loss or damage or injury, however caused. Competitors are strongly advised not to leave valuables unattended.
  4.  

  5. The Committee reserves the right to alter or modify the programme and conditions in any way they think fit, subject to compliance with the Rules and Regulations of the LTA and refuse entry without stating a reason.
  6.  

  7. Slazenger tennis balls will be used for this Tournament
